A tile was read wrong

Tap the square in the board editor and set it right — your rack too — then solve again. If a particular board fails every time, send us the screenshot that failed. That is the single most useful thing you can give us: recognition improves from real examples.

The screenshot will not scan at all

The whole board needs to be in the picture, grid edge to grid edge, with nothing overlapping it. A screenshot taken mid-animation, one cropped to part of the board, or one with a notification banner across the top row is the usual reason a scan comes back empty.

The words look wrong for my game

Check the dictionary you are solving against. The app ships 3 — English, French and Portuguese — and the English one is the list Words With Friends itself uses. Solving against the wrong list is the usual cause of a word your game then rejects.

Does it work offline?

The solving does. Recognition and the word search both run on your phone, and the dictionaries are installed with the app, so you can solve a board with no signal at all.

Purchases and restoring them

Everything you buy goes through Apple or Google, not through us. Use Restore purchases in the app if you have changed phone or reinstalled. Refunds have to be requested from the store that took the payment — we cannot issue them.
